Wesley H. "Bill" Steele
Wesley H. “Bill” Steele, 91, Seneca, MO passed into eternal rest at 3:40 PM, Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Seneca House Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Wesley Harvey Steele was born March 4, 1922 in Cloud Chief, OK the son of Walter LeRoy and Mary Liever “Cook” Steele. Bill as he was know to family and friends retired from Interstate Grocery later known as Fleming Foods where he had worked for 32 years as over the road driver. Bill was a WWII Army Veteran serving in European Theater achieving the rank of Master Sargent. He served from March 1943 to October 1945. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 163 in Seneca, MO. Bill was a member of the Seneca Church of Christ where served as an Elder for a time. Wesley H. “Bill” Steele married Doneta Lucile “Chapman” Steele September 20, 1943 in Tacoma, Washington and she survives. Additional survivors include, two sons, Dennis Steele and wife Janie, Mexico, MO; Lonnie Steele and wife Janie, Seneca, MO; two daughters, Annetta Black and husband Don, Gladstone, MO and Sara Jones and husband Jack, Seneca; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Seneca Church of Christ with Jake King officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with family members serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home.
