Walter Allstun

Walter R. Allstun, 90, Dexter, MO passed into eternal rest October 10, 2017 at Joplin Gardens after a long illness.   Walter Ray Allstun was born November 27, 1926 in Essex, MO the son of Thomas L. and Carrie Belle (Tracer) Allstun.  Walter lived in the Dexter area most of his life. He was a Concrete Contractor and a Farmer. He was a member of the Essex Church of Christ. Walter Ray Allstun married Martha Louise Lawson September 13, 1947 in Piggott, AR and she preceded him in death July 7, 2008.   Survivors include two daughters, Geraline Reaves, Seneca and Kathy Fortner, Dexter, MO; one brother, Lorn Allstun; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.   Walter was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charley Allstun and Arthur Allstun; seven sisters, Bessie Shipman, Edith Gist, Pansy Vanughn, Lillie Fortner, Lucy Harrison, Alice Abbott and Ruth Larsen.   The family will receive friends Friday night at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Services.   Funeral services will be held at Watkins & Sons Funeral Services in Dexter, MO at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 14, 2017.   Local arrangements under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.
