Vivian J. Robertson
Vivian Jean (DeWeese) Robertson, 83, Joplin, MO passed into eternal rest at 4:20 PM, Saturday, November 2, 2013 in Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, MO after a short illness. Vivian Jean DeWeese was born August 7, 1930 in Newton County, MO the daughter of Osborn and Elizabeth (Stelts) DeWeese. She was a 1947 graduate of Seneca High School and for many years a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Joplin. Over the years she served there in various capacities, including pianist until needing to give fulltime care to her mother. She worked as a Telephone Operator for thirty-seven years for the former Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents Osborn and Elizabeth DeWeese and one sister Bernice Yust-Dack. Survivors include one brother, Vernon DeWeese, Joplin; two sisters, Betty Yust, Claremore, OK and Eldonna DeWeese, Bolivar, MO and a host of nieces and nephews. Vivian thought of others’ needs before her own and was known for her generosity. She was a talented artist in acrylic and oil and especially enjoyed doing landscapes. Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the Bethel Baptist Church north of Seneca on Bethel Road. Burial will be in the Kirk Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on the family from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
