Vernon Ray Cook, 92, Joplin, MO, passed away December 20, 2019 at Freeman Hospital after a sudden illness.
Vernon Ray Cook was born in Hart, MO the son of Christopher L. and Maude M. (Morgan) Cook. Vernon was a life long area resident. Vernon owned and operated a roofing company for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors, eating out, working on farm and he was a good provider for his family. Vernon loved his family and loved spending time with his grand children. Vernon was of the Methodist faith and attended the Seneca United Methodist Church.
Vernon married Nancy Husucker, August 15, 1978 in Miami, OK and she survives.
Additional survivors include his children, Bryon Cook and Tara, Seneca, Greg Cook, Seneca, Debbie Duncan and Don, Joplin, Rebecca Perry and Jerry, Edmond and Don Moser and Brenda, Joplin; one brother Junior Harrington, Seneca and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, one son Terry Cook, two grandsons, Gabriel Thornberry and Adam Cook; three sisters and 8 brothers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7pm, Monday, December 23, 2019 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, following the visitation the body will be taken for cremation.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, December 28, 2019 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home with Kenji Harrington officiating.
