Shirley Rogers

Shirley L. Rogers, 81, Seneca, MO, passed into eternal rest at 4:50pm, November 12, 2016 at Freeman West Hospital from injuries sustained in a fall.   Shirley Levon Cope was born June 1, 1935 in Seneca, MO the daughter of George and Edith (Macy) Cope. She was raised in Glendore, CA.  Shirley graduated Nursing School at Pasadena, CA and was a traveling nurse until she retiring in 1984 from the former St. John’s Hospital in Joplin.  She was a member of Swars Prairie Baptist Church.   Shirley L. Cope married Dennis W. Rogers September 29, 1982 in Miami, OK, and he survives.   Additional survivors include one brother, Howard E. Cope and wife Carolyn, Springfield, MO. Two stepsons, Randal Rogers and wife Elizabeth, Seneca and Jay Dee Rogers and wife Lauri of Broken Arrow, OK; 6 step-grandchildren; 8 step-great-grandchildren.   Funeral services under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 2:00pm, November 17, 2016 at the Swars Prairie Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Case officiating.  Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, southwest of Neosho, MO with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
