Shirley Hilburn

Shirley Ann (Lankford) Hilburn, Age 81 of Seneca, MO was born to Basil and Grace Lankford on September 4, 1935 and went home to be with her Lord on April 1, 2017.  Shirley passed from this life following a recent stroke and a battle with cancer.  Shirley lived in the Seneca area all of her life.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She had many loving friends. She loved being a homemaker and keeping a neat and clean house.  She was a member of the Seneca Church of Christ for many years and was always willing to help wherever she was needed.  Shirley married Jerry Don (Gid) Hilburn on February 27th, 1954 at the Seneca Church of Christ.  They were married for 63 years.  Preceding her in death was her son, Jerry Robert Hilburn, and her parents, Basil and Grace Lankford. Her husband, Gid Hilburn survives, as well as a son, Darrel Hilburn and wife, Dianna of Seneca, MO; five grandchildren, Stephanie Stewart and husband Matt of Seneca, MO; Cody Hilburn and wife, Alicia of Seneca, MO; Brandon Hilburn and wife Elizabeth of Dayton, OH; Travis Hilburn and wife, Autumn of Carterville, MO; and Callie Hilburn of Miami, OK; she also had ten loving great grandchildren; five sisters, Betty Bowers and husband Jerry of Ft. Worth, TX; Ila Mae Purcell of Joplin, MO; MarieHoffman and husband John of Seneca, MO; Jonell Towler and husband Robert of Seneca, MO; Janet Brooks and husband Ed of Columbia, MO; and one brother Roy Lee Lankford and wife Julia of Seneca, MO.    A celebration of life will be on Tuesday April 4, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Seneca Church of Christ with Jake King officiating the service.  The body has been taken for cremation.
