Obituary for
R. Ray Seaton
Roy Ray Seaton, 85, Joplin, MO, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin after an extended illness. Ray was born May 14, 1927 to Ralph and Grace (Bilyeu) Seaton in Walnut Shade, MO. He graduated from Branson High School and joined the Navy to serve in WWII then returned and earned a teaching degree from Missouri University. Ray was a successful teacher, insurance agent, stock broker, real estate developer, and retired as a financial planner. Ray married Lillie Mae Lee, a school teacher from Ponce de Leon, MO on October 19, 1951. They were blessed with three children. His wife Lillie and three brothers, Alfred Seaton, Orville Seaton and Fred Seaton preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter Jan Lucca and husband Dave of Lancaster, PA; son Jim Seaton and wife Brenda of Grain Valley, MO; son John Seaton and wife Candice of Blue Springs, MO; siblings Lola Brown of Branson, MO; Earl Seaton of Reeds Spring, MO; Homer Seaton of Sparta, MO; Pete Seaton of Miller, MO; and six grandchildren. The body has been taken for cremation under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church, Seneca, MO Wednesday, March 27th at 2:00 p.m. Following the memorial service a committal service will be held at 5:00 p.m. at Flood Cemetery, Highlandville, MO.
