Peggy Joyce Hoggard

Peggy Joyce Hoggard passed away on 04/08/2025 at Oak Pointe in Neosho Missouri with family by her side. Peggy was born in Lycan, Colorado at home to Alonzo Lee Flaherty and Marjorie Maxine (Beck) Flaherty. Peggy grew up around Seneca and Neosho Missouri. Peggy had 4 sisters (Jean, Ruby, Karen and Mary) and 1 brother (Marvin). Her siblings were everything to her. She would drop what she was doing if they needed her right away.

Peggy meets the love of her life Joel Thomas Hoggard (Tommy) in a diner in Carthage Missouri in 1964. Peggy worked with Tommy's sister at the diner. They went on their first date on January 1, 1965. Three months later on 03/15/1965 they got married at the Greene County Courthouse in Springfield, MO. Tommy was on leave from the Navy at the time. They moved to California until he was honorably discharged from the Navy. They moved back to Missouri where Tommy started working for the Frisco Railroad and Peggy became a housewife. At that time she was already a mother to her first born, Nick. Peggy had two more children Rhonda and Robert. Her children were her pride and joy and she cherished her family with her heart.

Peggy loved living out in the country. In the late 70's Tommy, Peggy and the kids moved to Everton, Mo to help on the dairy farm that Tommy's parents had. Peggy loved bottle feeding the baby calves. In 1985 they moved to North Dakota with Rhonda and Robert. Then in 1994 they moved to Colorado for Tommy's work for the Burlington Railroad. When Tommy retired from the railroad they moved back to North Dakota in 2002. They lived there making frequent trips to Missouri until 2020 when they stayed in Missouri. She also loved to garden, especially flowers; roses were her favorite. She had a green thumb for anything she grew.

Peggy is survived by children Nick (Tabby) Hoggard, Rhonda (Brian) Gaarder, and Robert (Tina) Hoggard, 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, sisters Ruby (Richard) Wallace, Mary (John) Smith, sister-in-law Katy Scheer, brother-in-law Chuck Hoggard and many nieces and nephews.
