Norma Laverne (Workman) Farmer, 78, Joplin, MO, passed into eternal rest at 9:05 PM, March 27, 2013 at her home in Joplin after a long illness. Norma Laverne Workman was born July 12, 1934 in Joplin, MO the daughter of Clarence Elmer and Effie Jane (Showers) Workman. She was a homemaker. Norma Laverne Workman married Wilmar Ray Famer August 7, 1952 in Joplin, MO and he preceded her in death. Survivors include four sons; Bill Farmer, Seneca, MO, Jimmy Farmer and Buddy Farmer both of Granby, MO and John Farmer, Rocky Comfort, MO; three daughters, Sharon Moore, Sleeper, MO, Diana Schaeffer and Anita Pace both of Joplin, MO; two brothers, Frank Workman and Joe Workman both of Joplin, MO; four sisters, LaVon McCurdy, Margie Caylor and Vickie Wagner all of Joplin, MO and Carolyn Reynolds, Lancaster, CA; 26 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Effie, one son, Gary Farmer and five brothers, David Workman, Grayson Workman, Charles Workman, Clarence Workman and Eldon Workman. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Kirk Cemetery North East of Seneca on Kapok Dr. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 PM Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Funeral Home. Arrangements under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.
