Max Eugene Chester, of rural Neosho, MO, passed into everlasting life on June 24, 2019, following a long illness.
Max was born on October 21, 1932 to Arthur “Skinny” and Sarah “Sadie” ( Rinehart) Chester.
He was a 1950 graduate of Seneca High School. In 1951 he was employed at the Milnot Milk Company where he retired after working for over 43½ years. Max was a lifetime member of the Swars Prairie Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years and on the cemetery board.
Max is survived by his wife of 67 years, Edith Mae Golden who he married on March 8,1952. In addition he is survived by three daughters Tina and husband Denny Wilson of Neosho, Flora Stansberry and Tonya Chester of Seneca. Grandchildren are Aaron Wilson, Ethan Wilson and wife Kim, Heath Ellington, Lewis Ellington and wife Marlena, Keith Wilson and wife Holly, Karen Bruce and husband Jesse, and Tim Stansberry and wife Joelle Hope; 17 great-grandchildren; Aurora Ellington, Trace Wilson, Jaxon Ellington, Kinley Wilson, Hunter Ellington, Parker Wilson, Beau Ellington, Neelah Wilson, Aiden Wilson, Hailey Ellington, Mason Bruce, Colin Stansberry, Liam Ellington, Alice Stansberry, Eli Ellington, Aria Ellington, and Taylor Nelson and husband Jarrod; two great-great-grandsons Christian and Kade Nelson; other survivors include a sister, Virginia Tice of Neosho and four brothers, Marvin Chester and wife Patsy, Donald Chester and wife Barbara, Jerry Chester, and Darrell Chester all of Seneca, MO; and many other relatives and friends.
Max enjoyed many activities; family vacations, farming, sports, square dancing, and Volunteer Christian Church Builders. He was known as a man who never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Max was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vernon Rinehart and Kenneth Chester and one sister Betty East.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, June 26, 2019 at the Swars Prairie Baptist Church south of Seneca on DD Highway.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, June 27, 2019 at the Swars Prairie Baptist Church with Jeral Burnside and Roger Chester officiating. Burial will be in the Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery with Grandsons; Aaron Wilson, Ethan Wilson, Keith Wilson, Heath Ellington, Lewis Ellington and Tim Standsberry serving as pallbearers.
