Mary Lou Graves-Roberts Chumbley, 82, Seneca, MO. passed into eternal arrest January 15, 2021 at Freeman West Hospital.
Mary Lou Graves was born January 4, 1939 in Pitcher, OK the daughter of Edgar Arno and Dicie (Poe) Graves. Mary had lived in the Seneca area most of her life.
Mary attended Seneca High School. She later went on to get her Nursing degree as a LPN from Franklin Tech in Joplin, MO. Mary worked at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Miami Baptist Hospital in Miami, Ok and did private care nursing in Tulsa, OK. She retired form her nursing career, after working for the Fairland Nursing Home in Fairland, OK.
Mary loved people, after years of being a caregiver, she would welcome the opportunity to help care for anyone who needed her. She opened her home countless times to help someone in need.
Some of Mary’s activates she loved, was being outside, playing golf, gardening, always planting flowers in the spring and spending time with her grandchildren, Granny Tulsa will be greatly missed.
Mary didn’t get to attend church much, but she always had her T.V. turned into a Christian station. She was of the Christian faith.
Mary Lou married Loyd Franklin Roberts on October 31, 1956 in Miami, OK and he preceded her in death on February 20, 1971.
Survivors include her children; Donald Loyd Roberts (Cherie), Walker, MO., Anita Ann Roger, Miami, OK; Siblings; Arno Graves (Barbara), Wyandotte, OK., David Graves, (friend, Michelle Gudde), Seneca, MO., Linda Naylor (Glennis), Neosho, MO. and Martha Griffin, Seneca, MO; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Mary was preceeded in death by her parents, Ed and Dicie Graves; one son, Perry Roberts; one brother, Kenneth (Lefty) Graves; one niece, Michaela Graves; sister-in-law Claudia Graves and one brother-in-law Ronnie Griffin.
The family will receive friends from 6-7pm, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO.
Graveside services will be held a 2:00 pm, Thursday, 21, 2021 at the Seneca Cemetery with Bro. Rod VanGorkhom officiating.
