Marvel L. McGuirk, 86, lifelong resident of Seneca, MO, passed into eternal rest May 3, 2020 at her daughters’ home in Neosho, MO surrounded by her family.
Marvel Louise McGuirk was born June 12, 1933 in Seneca, MO the daughter of Clyde and Gladys (Easley) King. After graduating from Seneca High School, she worked as a secretary at the Newton County Court House. Marvel and her husband Tommy move to Nebraska for a short time while he was in the military. After moving back Marvel worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the former Sale Memorial Hospital in Neosho, MO. She will be remembered as a kind, caring and loving Christian woman. She loved spending time with her family and friends and especially loved taking care of her grandchildren. Marvel was a member of New Life Fellowship in Neosho, MO.
Marvel Louise McGuirk married Tommy McGuirk November 26, 1954 in Seneca, MO and he preceded her in death November 7, 1972. Marvel was also preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Gladys, one infant sister Norma Lee King and two grandsons, Kourtney Alexander and Matthew Trent McGuirk.
Survivors include; her children, Rhonda Daugherty Neosho, Peggy McGuirk, Seneca, Judy and husband Russell Alexander, Seneca, Dee Ann and husband Rick Eramo, Neosho, Matthew and wife Tracy McGuirk, Joplin and Mark McGuirk and wife Charlotte, Neosho; two brothers, David King, Joplin and George King, Grove; one sister Judy Lawson, Neosho; 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm, Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at New Life Fellowship 4022 LaQuesta Dr in Neosho, MO with Matthew McGuirk and Mark Buzzard officiating. Marvel will be placed next to her husband Tommy in the Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ethan Eramo, Mike Hurn, Justin McGuirk, Skye McGuirk, James Redden and Josh Wecker.
Those attending the visitation and funeral services, will be asked to follow the social distancing protocols set forth by the State of Missouri Health Department and the CDC.
