Margaret Ruth Kosted (Lankford-Coburn)
Margaret Ruth (Lankford – Coburn) Kosted, 90, Seneca, MO, passed into eternal rest at 8:50 AM, Tuesday, July 03, 2012 at the Seneca House Nursing Home after a long illness. Margaret Ruth Lankford was born Aug. 28, 1921 in Newton County, MO the daughter of Elmer and Lois (Thomas) Lankford. Margaret Ruth had worked for Eagle Pitcher plant in Seneca. Margaret Ruth married Ray Coburn May 10, 1945 and together they owned and operated the Western Auto Store in Seneca and also owned and operated the Dairy Queen for several years. She then married Leo Kosted and they lived in Fairland, Ok for 30 plus years. Leo preceded her in death in September of 1995. She moved back to Seneca and at the time of her death she was living at the Seneca House Nursing Home. Margaret Ruth was a member of the Hottel Springs Church of Christ. Survivors include one brother, Max Lankford and wife Peggy, Seneca; one sister, Thelma Fay Widiner, Seneca and a host of extended family and friends. She will be missed by all.Margaret Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Lois Lankford, her husband Leo Kosted, her son, JR Colburn, her daughter, Carol Rubel, six brothers, Beecher Lankford, Junior Lankford, Phillip Lankford, Cecil Lankford, Gilbert Lankford and Elmer Ray Lankford and one sister, Phyllis Rogers. Graveside services under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Thompson Grove Cemetery with Lawrence Sanders officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Funeral Home.
