Lonnie L. Lankford, 77, Park Hill, OK, passed away February 3, 2023 at Landmark Hospital in Joplin, MO after an illness.
Lonnie Lee Lankford was born July 5, 1945 in Wyandotte, OK the son of Hallie and Beatrice (Brown) Lankford. He graduated from Wyandotte High School. Lonnie served his country as a Radar Operator during the Viet Nam War in the United States Army. Lonnie received a Bachelors Degree Horticulture from OSU. Lonnie worked for Greenleaf Nursery in Park Hill, OK for over 30 years until he retired. Lonnie loved being outdoors walking and enjoying nature. He loved to ride his motorcycle, fishing and working with plants. Lonnie was a member of the Seneca Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma. He had formerly served as First Council person for the tribe. He loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.
Lonnie Lee Lankford married Sandra (Edward) and she preceded him in death. Lonnie was also preceded in death by his mother and father, one daughter, Kimberley Edwards, two brothers, Tommie Lankford and Larry Lankford and one grandson Jobe Enkey.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary McClain, Wyandotte, OK; one son, Corey Lankford, Park Hill, OK; two grandchildren, Dylan McClain and Kyrie Jenks; one great-grandson Malcolm Jenks; two sisters, Billie June Black, College Station, TX and Joan Edwards, Wyandotte, OK; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
The body will lie in state at the Seneca Cayuga Tribal Community Building from Noon and Sunday, February 5, 2023 until 9:00am Monday. Graveside services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home will be held at 10:00am, Monday, February 6, 2023 at the Brown Cemetery south of Wyandotte, OK with Paul Barton officiating.
