Lloyde Lee Vangunda
Lloyde Lee Vangunda, 73, Seneca, MO, passed away at 12:55 AM, April 18, 2014 at the Seneca House in Seneca, MO after a long illness. Lloyde Lee Vangunda was born March 20, 1941 in Joplin, MO the son of Melvin L. and Helen G. (Hopkins) Vangunda. He married Neva Jean Lanyon July 13, 1959 and she preceded him in death May 18, 1992. Lloyde and Neva lived in the Seneca Area and raised five boys. Lloyde worked at Dones Food, and other odd jobs to support his family. He cut wood, hauled hay for many years. Lloyde was a bus driver for the Seneca Schools for over 30 years, and he loved traveling to all the school events. He also drove charters for Viking Trailway in Joplin. Lloyde loved to fish, camp and just spend time with his family. On June 11, 1993 Lloyde Vangunda married Sharon Barnes in Mt. Vernon, MO and they moved to Monett later returning to Seneca and then moving to Pierce City. Lloyde was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Neva, an infant daughter, Helen Gaye Vangunda and one son Milton Vangunda. Survivors include, his wife Sharon Vangunda, Atlanta, GA; four sons, Melvin Vangunda, State of Missouri, Robert Vangunda and wife Kim, Noel, MO, Dannie Vangunda and wife Michelle, Springfield, MO and Manford Vanguda and wife Dana, Seneca, MO; one step-daughter, Alissa McGuinn and husband Rod, Atlanta, GA; 15 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Seneca Church of Christ with Bob Hampton officiating. Burial will be in the Osborne Cemetery in Joplin with grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 PM Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions be made to help with funeral expenses.
