Lawrence Martin

Lawrence (Larry) R. Martin, 75, Seneca, MO passed into eternal rest at his home in Seneca after an illness.    Lawrence Richard Martin was born April 19, 1942 in Cherokee, KS the son of Lawrence E. and Berniece E. (Ryan) Martin. He graduated from Cherokee Kansas High School. Larry never knew a stranger and was well known as an avid conversationalist.  He loved to be with his family and friends and fishing.  Larry retired from the City of Joplin where he was a grounds keeper at Schifferdecker Golf Course. Larry was a member of the Seneca Church of Christ.   Larrry married Donna J. Stone March 15, 1984 in Seneca, MO and she survives.   Additional survivors include his children; Rick Martin and wife Beth, San Antonio, TX, Randy Joe Martin and wife Brenda, Seneca, MO, Robyn Horner and husband David, Webb City, MO, Ronnie Martin and wife Rowena, Nixa, MO and Keri Bradley and husband Jim, Diamond, MO; step-children, Wade Payne and wife Joyce, Fairland, OK and Regina Barton and husband Chuck, Farlington, KS; one sister Janice Correll, Webb City, MO; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.   Larry was preceded in death by  his parents Lawrence E. and Berniece E. Martin.   The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm, Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Seneca Church of Christ.    Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the Seneca Church of Christ with Jake King officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Justin Payne, Tyler Bradley, Poncho King, Darren King, Chuck Horner and Shawn Horner serving as pallbearers.   Memorial contributions can be made to the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
