Obituary for Laura Gay Burkhart

Laura Gay Burkhart a resident of Spring River Christian Village, Joplin, MO passed away April 18, 2018.  She was born at Racine, MO, August 3, 1920 to Edward and June (Sparlin) Quigg. She was the great-grandduaghter of Andrew Sparlin one of the first white men to come to Wella Park (Seneca Area).  August 2, 1942, she married James (Jim) Burkhart of Seneca, MO. He preceded her in death in July of 2001. She was also preceded in death by one son Brant Reed Burkhart July 2015.Survivors are two sons: James Gaylord and wife Barbara of Apex, NC, and Scott and wife Mary of Loveland, CO; one daughter-in-law Pam Burkhart of Granbury, TX one granddaughter, Brandyn; three grandsons: Stuart, John and Aaron and five great-grandsons; Zhane, Ethan, Jackson, Finn, and Preston.  To honor the memory of Laura Gay, graveside services and burial will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Seneca Cemetery in the Burkhart plot with the family officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Campbell-Billdecome Funeral Home, Seneca.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Crowder College or the Spring River Christian Village in care of the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home PO Box 380, Seneca, MO 64865.
