Kenneth (Kenny) Leroy Palmer, 79, went to his heavenly home on March 17, 2025, at his residence in rural Miami, Oklahoma, surrounded by family. He was born March 27, 1945, in Jasper County, MO, the son of the late Milt and Reba Faye Palmer (Robinson) of rural Miami, Oklahoma. Kenneth was a lifelong area resident and graduate of Wyandotte High School and NEO A&M.
Kenneth was a proud veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm, as a Seabee, ranking EO1. Kenneth worked for the county for many years and later served one term as the District 2 Ottawa County Commissioner. He spent most of his days as a heavy equipment business owner. Kenny was a devout Christian and charter member of Eastside Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday School Superintendent and Deacon. Kenny had a love of tractors, collecting antiques and showing his prized Minneapolis Moline's at area shows. He loved his family and instilled his values and strong work ethic into his children and grandchildren, whom he was very proud of.
Kenneth married Shirley June Stilley, January 10, 1975 in Miami, Oklahoma, who preceded him in death. Survivors include, three sons, Jason Palmer and wife Carrie of Afton, Lewis Palmer and wife Melissa of Wyandotte, and Larry Palmer and wife Tammie of Miami; nine grandchildren Kenneth Palmer, Sydney Moore, Brian Palmer and wife Reba, Jarett Palmer, Lauren Dixon (Palmer) and husband Cole, Kevin Palmer, Cade Moore, Clint Palmer, and Jaci Palmer; two great grandsons, Lucas Palmer, and Maverick Maguire; one brother, Chester Palmer and wife Kay; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-7pm Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home in Seneca. Funeral service will be held 10am, Friday, March 21, 2025, at Eastside Baptist Church, with Brother John Crowley and Mike Mayfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Seneca Cemetery.
Kenny's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include: Jimmy Dale (Poncho) King, John Cook, Kevin Gilmore, Chester Palmer, Butch Fishwick, and Skip Cheely.
The family requests donations be made to East Side Baptist Church Building Fund in lieu of flowers.
