Obituary for Karen Hilliard

Karen Lee (Humphrey) Hilliard, 73, Turkey Ford Community, OK passed into eternal rest at 9:54pm, Friday, June 27, 2014 at Freeman West Hospital after an illness. Karen Lee Humphrey was born January 14, 1941 in Chirstie a little community in Adair County, OK the daughter of Lon and Ollie (Dodson) Humphrey. Karen formerly worked for Lorance Electronics in Tulsa, OK and Baker Hughes in Claremore, OK. She was a member of the Grove Church of Christ.  Karen Lee Humphrey married Ernest Ray Hilliard August 19, 1957 in Miami, OK and he survives. She accompanied him through his military career 21 and a half years and additional 15 years McDonald Douglas in Tulsa. Following that they settled down on the family farm in the Turkey Ford Community.    Additional survivors include one son, Kevin Ray Hilliard, Claremore; one daughter, Kimberly R. Hilliard-Stahl, Turkey Ford Community; 3 grandsons, Michael J. Stahl, state of OK, Wyatt L. Hilliard, Claremore, OK and Triston James Hilliard, Claremore, OK  ; 2 granddaughters, Ashley Stahl, Tulsa and Jessica Lynn Hilliard, Claremore, OK and one great-grand-daughter Sunny Ray Lee Earheart.  Karen was preceded in death by her parents Lon and Ollie Humphrey; one infant son, Darrin Lee Hilliard; three brothers, Larry Humphrey, Jerry Humphrey and George Humphrey; three sisters, Clara Strickler, Maria Humphrey and Lavern Bradford.  Memorial graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Council House Cemetery with Doug Rainbolt officiating.  The body has been taken for cremation.
