Obituary for John M Adams

John Michael Adams, 63, lifelong Seneca Resident, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Cancer Treatment Center in Tulsa, OK surrounded by his loving wife, sister and brothers.    John Michael Adams was born April 19, 1949 in Neosho, MO the son of Loyd and Bernice Adams. He graduated from Seneca High School in 1967 and from Missouri Southern State College in 1972 with a Bachelors Degree in Education. John taught history, social studies, coached football and baseball Monett and Seneca, prior to be employed by Missouri Highway Patrol.  He retired in 2007 after 30 years of service.  John served on the Seneca School Board, refereed High School football, baseball and girls softball for 36 years. He was currently serving his third term on the Seneca City Council. He loved playing golf, fishing and spending time with his wife and daughter.  He was loved so very much by his family and friends.   Survivors include his wife Tawni and daughter Abbigail of the home; His mother Bernice Adams, Seneca and loving mother-inlaw Sunny (Honey) Graham; one sister, Mary Ann Nutting and husband Doug, Miami; two brothers Jim Adams and wife Kim and Steve Adams and wife Brenda all of Seneca; A host of Nieces and Nephews and a host of friends.   John M. Adams was preceded in death by his father Loyd J. Adams.   Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Seneca Christian Church with Truman Brady officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with brothers Jim and Steve Adams, brother in-law Doug Nutting and nephews Rick and Chad Nutting and Steven Adams Jr. serving as pallbearers.   The family will receive friends from 6 to 7PM, Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Seneca Christian Church.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cancer Treatment Center of America, Tulsa, OK in care of the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, PO Box 380, Seneca, MO 64865
