Jessie Davis

Jessie Lucille Davis, 71, Joplin, MO passed away February 12, 2017 at Freeman West Hospital after an illness.   Jessie was born January 15, 1946 in Joplin, MO the daughter of Jesse Clark Souder and Lucille Montess (Yeager) Souder.   She was a 1963 graduated from Seneca High School and from the former Joplin Junior College and MSSU in 1965.  She was a lifelong resident of the Joplin-Seneca area. She worked 30 years at the Social Security Office in Joplin as an Area Claims Representative retiring in October 1995.   Jessie enjoyed camping, crafts, going to the flea markets and going to church.  Jessie was a member of the Hornet Christian Church.   On January 22, 1966 Jessie married Calvin L Davis in Joplin, MO and he preceded her in death May 21, 2003. She was also preceded in death by one sister Shelva J. Clark November 11, 2014.   Survivors include one son, Gaylen S. Davis and wife Sally of Joplin; one daughter, Carrie Hardaway and husband Darren, Seneca, MO; one brother-in-law, Donald E. Clark, Columbus, KS; two nephews and three nieces.    The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm, February 14, 2017 at the Hornet Christian Church.    Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Hornet Christian Church with Butch Ward officiating.  Burial will be in the Hornet Cemetery with Larry Cox, Sonny Judy, Donald Smith, Ernie Burdge and Troy Cupp serving as pallbearers.
