James Gatewood

James P. Gatewood Jr., 62, Wyandotte, OK passed into eternal rest February 1, 2025 at his home in rural Wyandotte after loosing his battle ALS.

James Paul Gatewood Jr was born February 25, 1962 in Tulsa, OK the son of James (Jim) and Darlene (Black) Gatewood Sr.. James was a lifelong area resident. He was devoted to working for Tamko for 28 years, Eagle Pitcher for 9 years and was proud member of IBEW Local 95 for 20 plus years where he taught. James loved hunting, fishing, camping and farming. He spent many many hours in the hay field. He was a lifelong member of Sycamore Chapel Church south of Wyandotte, OK.

James Paul Gatewood Jr. married Phyllis Marie Smith September 19, 1981 in Wyandotte, OK and she survives.

Additional survivors include two sons; Daniel Gatewood and David Gatewood both of Wyandotte, OK; his parents Jim and Darlene Gatewood, Wyandotte; one brother, Greg Gatewood and Kerry Lewis, Tulsa, OK; one sister, Christi Gatewood and Ken Thomure, Joplin, MO; two grandchildren, Adie Gatewood and Wyatt Gatewood; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6pm to 7pm, February 5, 2025 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, February 6, 2025 at the Sycamore Chapel Church with Rev. Jon Bates Officiating. Following the service the body will be taken for cremation. Honorary Pallbearers will be Daniel Gatewood, Mark Witte, Ron Townsend, Parker Wilson, Ryan Hembree, Greg Gatewood and Brett Wilson.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Sycamore Chapel Church.
