James "Jim" Harold Childers, 81, Miami, OK, passed away August 3, 2024 in Commerce, OK after a long illness.
James Harold Childers was born November 24, 1942 in Helena, Ark. the son of Esther (Lynch) and Henry Childers. Jim enjoyed fishing, horses, weight lifting, going to casinos, OSU & KC Chiefs football, watching western movies, but most of all spending time with children, grandchildren and family. Jim loved music and in his early years played bass for his brother Bob Childers. He worked for the former B.F. Goodrich Plant in Miami, Ok., General Mill and Buffalo Run Casino. James served his country in the United States Army.
James H. Childers married Blossom Simmons August 7, 1965 and to that union three children were born, Melissa, Michelle and Amanda Jo. "in his 2nd marriage he had Marcie, Miranda and and one step son AJ Alsbaugh..
James was preceded in death by his daughter Amanda Jo, parents Esther & Henry , brothers Bob, Larry, Bill, Wayne, and Danny."Survivors include; Melissa & Randy Keith, Anderson, MO; Michelle & J Williams, Columbus, KS; Marcie & Sheridan Wilkes, Miami, OK; Miranda Childers, Miami, OK; AJ & Sarah Alsbaugh, Miami, OK,: Siblings : Linda McClure, Betty Green, Jeanette Collins, Sue Hanson, Joyce Holt and Don Childers; his grandchildren & a host of family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial service to be announced by the family.
