Herbert Griffith
Herbert E. Griffith, 81, Seneca, MO, passed into eternal rest at 6:55 PM, August 4, 2012 at the Joplin Health and Rehab after a long illness. Herbert Emory Griffith was born October 14, 1930 in Newton County, MO the son of William and Ethel (Chester) Griffith. Herbert had lived in the area most of his life he owned and operated the former Herb’s Wheel Horse in Seneca. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason of the Harmony Lodge #94 in Neodesha, KS. Herbert served his country in the Marines Corps during the Korean War. Survivors include two sons, Edwin Griffith, Oklahoma City, OK and Curtis Griffith, Hoquin, WA,; two daughters Michelle Clemons, Memphis, TN and Diana Griffith, Seneca; two brothers, Sid Griffith, Miami, OK and Bob Griffith, Hallettsville, TX; two sisters, Irma Lipe, Seneca and Pat Hill, Seneca and five grandchildren. Graveside services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the Thompson Grove Cemetery South of Seneca with Bob Hampton officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Howard Woodward, Mark Bennett, Mike Connell, Ron Bennett and Cecil Vance. Military Rites will be held at the graveside. Masonic Rites will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the funeral home with visitation following.
