Obituary for
Gladys Fritchey
Gladys Evelyn Fritchey passed away on November 17, 2012, at the age of 83, after a lengthy illness. She was born on February 2, 1929 in Seneca, MO., to George Orval Fritchey and Lottie Belle Helton Fritchey. She had lived in the Seneca area most of her life. She went to elementary school at Huber Center country school, and graduated from Seneca High School in 1948. Gladys worked for Southwestern Bell/ AT&T Telephone Company in Joplin. When the phone companies split, she transferred to Tulsa and trained on the first AT&T computerized telephone systems. Retiring after 30 years, she then owned and operated Cherokee Assisted Living in Seneca, along with several rental properties. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Vera Mae Gilman, brother in laws Junior Gilman and Glen Tucker, and one nephew, Kelly Gilman. She is survived by her brother George Fritchey and wife Mary of Seneca, one sister Pauline Anderson of Scott City, KS, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and celebration of her life will be handled by Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral home in Seneca. Visitation will be Monday, November 19 from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 20th, burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery.
