George "Corky" Wingfield
George "Corky" Wingfield, 69, Seneca, MO passed away 12:49 PM, December 24, 2012 at his home in rural Seneca after losing his battle to cancer. George Lewis Wingfield was born February 15, 1943 in Neosho, MO the son of Kit and Edith (Oring) Wingfield. Corky as everyone called him had lived in the area all of his life. He was an Auctioneer selling cattle, farms and horses. Corky auctioned for the Wheaton Sale Barn for 43 years and worked at the Joplin Stock Yards for 52 years. Corky loved life and lived it to the fullest daily. He loved to joke around and the St. Louis Cardinals. Corky is survived by his life partner, Patsy Cox; and sons Mike, Allen and Bill Cox and one daughter, Sonia Spruill; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home Chapel, Seneca. Following services there will be a short visitation then the body will be taken for cremation.
