George E. (Buck) Oliver

George Edward (Buck) Oliver, 85, Joplin, MO passed away September 22, 2024 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin after an illness.

George Edward Oliver was born June 12, 1939 in Seneca, MO the son of Charles and Hilda (Wilcox) Oliver. Buck attended Seneca High School. Later in life he moved to Oregon where he drove a log truck for a logging company. After moving back to the area he begin working as a school bus driver for the Joplin Public Schools until retiring. Buck loved traveling over the road and he enjoyed all the beautiful scenery.

George E. (Buck) Oliver married Beverly Anderson and she preceded him in death January 19, 1975. Also preceding him in death was, his parents, one brother, Charles Oliver and sister Margaret Ann; George married Cynthia Jean (Capps-Landers) June 16, 2009 in Joplin, MO and she survives.

Additional survivors include Anita Hagan and husband Roy, Neosho, MO, George Oliver Jr., Evansville, IN, Brenda Anderson, Fairland, OK, Robert Oliver, state of Virginia, Melinda Butterfield and husband Jason, Bartlesville, OK;step children, Jeana Baraga, Texarkana, TX and Dana Christian,  White Hall, AR, Jody Parnell and wife Amy, Galena, KS and Tonya Stephens and husband John of White Hall, AR; one sister, Carol Anderson, Neosho; one brother David Oliver, Ocala, FL; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends. 

The family will receive friends for 6-7 pm, Thursday, September 26, 2024 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 10 am, Friday, September 27, 2024 at Seneca Cemetery.
