Genevieve Rogers

Genevieve M. Rogers, 91, Seneca, MO passed away at 3:00 AM, Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Seneca House Nursing Home after losing her battle with cancer.     Genevieve was born November 4, 1921 in the old log cabin just north of Seneca, MO  the daughter of Jay and Goldie Ackerson.  She attended Frog Pond School and graduated from Seneca High School in 1939.     Genevieve married Warren H. Rogers October 21, 1941 in Joplin, MO and de preceded her in death December 19, 2002. Genevieve worked as a Union Representative for the United Baker's Union in Joplin for twenty years before retiring.    Surviving children are Dennis and wife Shirley Rogers, Seneca, Lanny and wife Nancy Rogers, Joplin and Randy and wife Penny Rogers, Joplin. Also surviving is one brother Calvin Ackerson, Seneca; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.    She was also preceded in death by her parents Jay and Goldie Ackerson, her husband Warren Rogers; son Terry Rogers and one brother Clifford Ackerson.    Graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Seneca Cemetery with Rev. Calvin Ackerson officiating.    The body has been taken for cremation under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO.
