Floyd “Catfish” Garland Mathia, 83, passed away, February 25, 2020 at his home in rural Wyandotte after an illness.
Floyd Garland Mathia was born November 14, 1936 in Turkey Ford, OK the son of Roy L. and Lula Pearl (Wyrick) Mathia. Floyd was a lifelong area resident he had worked for the former BF Goodrich Plant in Miami, OK until it closed. He then worked for Ottawa County Road District where he operated heavy equipment.
Floyd Garland Mathia married Ruby A. Wilkerson and she preceded him in death October 17, 2010. Floyd was also preceded in death by his parents, Roy Mathia and Lula Mathia; sisters, Gertrude Miller, Ruby Parnell, Shirley Ann Charles; brothers, Cleveland Mathia, Edward Mathia, Narvel Mathia, Virgil Mathia and Grover Mathia.
Survivors include his children; Glen Mathia, Cleburne, TX, Kay Waters and Carol Mathia both of Wyandotte, OK and Ann Thomas, Springfield, MO; One brother, Charles Mathia, Peoria, OK; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm, Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Howard Cemetery West of Turkey Ford.
