Elizabeth D. Garner, 71, formerly of Neosho, MO passed into eternal rest September 19, 2022 at the Oswego Health and Rehab after an illness.
Elizabeth (Liz) Diane Reed was born January 21, 1951, in Oklahoma City, OK, the daughter of Richard J. Reed and Moyna K. (French) Reed.
Liz was a generous spirit who loved making quilts and crafts, of all types throughout her life. She took great joy in giving them as gifts which are now treasured in many homes. Liz loved to cook and feed an army! She enjoyed baking cookies to have on hand for her children, grandchildren, friends, and OCC students. The Oklahoma Sooners football season was the highlight of her year and she could be heard yelling at the refs during each game. Liz loved shopping and literally would spend hours in Wal-Mart. She was generous, loving, and always supportive. Liz was all of her kids, and grandkids biggest fan, including being an active soccer mom before that was popular. She loved her country and served proudly in the Army, where she met her future spouse, Thomas. She loved her time as a dorm parent at Ozark Christian College and was an active member at Racine Christian Church until her health declined. In difficult situations, Liz was found bowing her head and talking to God. She served her family and others through her generous spirit, sharing the love of Christ through her crafts, food, and gifts.
Liz married Thomas H. Garner on October 30, 1971, at Ft. Huachuca, AZ. Tom preceded her in death on August 15 2020. She was also preceded in death by her father, Richard Reed, in 2013.
