Donald Wayne Black
Donald Wayne Black, 66, of Kansas City (formerly of Seneca, Mo and Trimble, Mo), passed away October 22, 2013 at the University of Kansas Hospital. Born on July 23, 1947 in Joplin, Missouri to Earl and Margie Black. Don was a 1965 graduate Seneca High School. He was in the US Navy from 1966-1970 and served aboard the U.S.S. Forrestal. Don received the National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. He married Annetta Steele on September 4, 1971 in Seneca, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; and sister Shirley Wilson. Survivors include his wife of 42 years; sons Trevor, and wife Becky, of Plattsburg, Mo.; James of Gladstone, Mo.; Nick of Overland Park, Kans.; daughter Meshanne of Platte City, Mo.; four grandchildren – Clint, Kate, Alex and Beau; a brother Danny and his wife Glenda of Camden Point, Mo. Visitation will be Friday, October 25, 6-7 p.m. at Seneca Church of Christ in Seneca, Mo. Funeral Service will be Monday, October 28, 10 a.m. at D.W. Newcomer's White Chapel in Gladstone, Mo. Burial will be in the D.W. Newcomer’s White Chapel Cemetery, Gladstone, Mo.
