Donald Bates

Donald Lloyd Bates, born July 16, 1923 in Vassar, Michigan, passed away June 13, 2017 at Sycamore Chapel parsonage, Wyandotte, Ok at the age of 93.  He was survived by his wife Barbara Joyce, her family and his five children, his son, David Bates, wife Korliss of Blue Jacket, Ok., daughter Kathy Ward, husband Frankie of Jenkins, Ky., son, Jonathan Bates, wife Judy of Wyandotte, Ok, daughter, Dawn Bond, husband Scott of Colorado Springs, Co., son, Bruce Bates, wife Tracy, of Owasso, Ok as well as 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.  Don started his life on the farm in Michigan until God called him to the ministry where he served more than 60 years until his death.  He preached the gospel of Jesus Christ and lived it all the days of his life.   Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Sycamore Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Jon Bates officiating.  Burial will be in the Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock, MI.
