Diane Dodson
Diane Dodson, 66, Seneca, MO, passed into eternal rest at 8:50pm, Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO after an illness. Diane Loyd was born January 2, 1948 in Goodman, MO the daughter of Jack and Wanda (Campbell) Loyd. Diane was a 1966 graduate of Goodman High School. Diane married Richard Dodson August 26, 1967 at Oakwood Christian Church in Goodman. Diane and Richard lived in Neosho before moving to Seneca in 1977. Diane worked in Newton County 34 years in almost every office before being elected and serving two terms as Newton County Public Administrator. She was a past President and Vice President of Kiwanis of Newton County, past Secretary/ Treasurer American Red Cross Newton/McDonald County and served in the Newton County Republican Women's Club. She loved her job and was very dedicated in serving the public of Newton County. Her campaign slogan was (“I Care”) and she truly did care very passionately about those under her care. Diane accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and her and Richard was Baptized together on March 8, 1982. Diane was an active member of First Baptist Church, Seneca, MO since 1982. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Richard L. Dodson; one son, David Aaron Dodson and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Jacob Aaron Dodson and Paige Annette Dodson all of Seneca; one brother, Dale Loyd and wife Evalyn, Neosho; one sister Joleen Rosier and husband Shawn, Joplin and a host of extended family and numerous friends. Diane was preceded in death by one daughter Lori Annette Dodson; her mother and father, Wanda and Jack Loyd and two brother-in-laws, Bill Neeley and Darrell Morris. Funeral Services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Racine Christian Church with Rev. Jim Wilson and Rev. Aaron Weibel officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Steve Welshhon, Kevin Wilson, Andy Woods, John Sims, Greggory Stremel and Tim Perigo serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Seneca. The casket will remain closed at all times.
