D. Lucile Steele
D. Lucile Steele, 92, Seneca, MO passed into eternal rest at 4:57pm, October 2, 2014, at the Seneca House Nursing home surrounded by her family after an illness. D. Lucile Chapman was born May 12, 1922 in Oklahoma City, OK the daughter of Gordon and Myde E. (Hatfield) Chapman. Lucile was a homemaker. In 2000 at 78 years old, Lucile published her life history, "Memories Of A Lifetime" and distributed it to family and friends. D. Lucile Chapman married Wesley (Bill) Harvey Steele September 20, 1943 in Tacoma, WA and he preceded her in death May 6, 2013 after 69 years of marriage. She was a member of the Seneca Church of Christ. Survivors include in two sons, Dennis Steele and wife Janie, Mexico, MO and Lonnie Steele and wife Janie, Seneca, MO; two daughters, Annetta Black, Gladstone, MO and Sara Jones and husband Jack, Seneca; one sister, Ruth Cope, Seneca, MO; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Lucile was preceded in death by one brother Lyle Chapman; one brother-in-law Harry Cope; one son-in-law Don Black; one infant sister Gladys Chapman and her parents Gordon and Myde Chapman. Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, will be held at 2:00PM October 6, 2014 at the Seneca Church of Christ with Jake King, Minister officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Grandsons and Great-Grandsons, Robert Steele, Michael Steele, Trevor Black, James Black, Nick Black, Clint Black and Jacob Steele serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 3:00PM October 5, 2014 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.
