Christine Deaton

Christine (Griner) Deaton, 80, Wyandotte, OK passed away April 18, 2025 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, MO after a short illness.

Christine Griner was born December 12, 1944 in Altus, OK the daughter of Ralph and Vivian (Smith) Griner. She was a lifelong area resident. Christine was a 1962 graduate of Seneca High School. Christine formerly worked for Eagle Picher in Grove, OK, Sunbeam in Neosho, MO and Oklahoma leather. She loved to read, go to the flea markets and yard sales. Christine loved spending time with her family and especially her great-grandchildren.

Christine Griner married Luther Deaton May 14, 1963 in Miami, OK and he preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was one son, Nick Deaton; her parents; and her four siblings, Leon Griner, Lee Griner, Ron Griner and Vicki Nanni.

Survivors include one son; Rick Deaton and wife Tracy, Wyandotte; one daughter, Tina Troutman, Independence, KS; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The body has been taken for cremation under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome funeral home, Seneca, MO. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
