Charles Frank Miller Jr. passed away February 26th, 2021 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, MO with family by his side, following a brief illness.
Chuck, as he was better known, was born to Charles Miller Sr. and Alice (Thacker) Miller on August 24th, 1944 in Anthony, KS. He married Harriett Weaver on July 10th, 1975 in Miami, OK.
Chuck worked for Dyno Nobel Inc. in Carthage, MO for 35 years as a chemical operator. As a young man, Chuck could often be found swinging from a rope in a tree, as he and Harriett also owned and operated their own tree trimming service, Tree Specialist. Chuck, not one for sitting around, “retired” into managing the Underwood’s Crag-O-Lea campground in Pineville, MO in 2011 with Harriett. Chuck and Harriett dedicated forty years to fundraising for the Cerebral Palsy Center of Carthage, organizing numerous events. Chuck enjoyed deer hunting, camping, fishing, and making knives but his favorite hobby was his mules, which he loved.
Chuck is survived by his wife: Harriett Miller; his children: Cindy Wilson, Kimberley Sheldon, and Charles Miller; 8 grandchildren: Caitlin, Logan, Alysha, Ashley, Kolton, Austin, Crystin, Quinn; 11 great-grandchildren: Jackson, Marley, Cooper, Aiva, Aiden, Kyndall, Gabe, Leo, Cash, Zoey, and Levi; Siblings: Charlotte Guynn; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless extended family and friends.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents: Charles Miller Sr. and Alice Miller; his siblings: Wilma Smith, Joann Cranmer, Billie Lou Scarborough, Dale Smith and Chancy Smith.
The body has been taken to Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO, for cremation.
Chuck's family will hold a Celebration of Life Memorial Service for the lives of those he has touched. Please join us for the celebration at Underwood’s Crag-O-Lea Campground in Pineville, MO at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 6th, 2021, with his friend Dave Talley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to "Trails for Kids". Checks should be mailed to Trails for Kids, 7861 County Road 170; Carthage, MO 64836.
Chuck will forever be remembered for his silly faces and his undying love of others.
