Obituary for
Carl Roberts
Mr. Carl Roberts was born January 29th 1914 is Des Ark, Arkansas, the son of Will Roberts and Ida Mae Heath. He entered into eternal rest at age 97 at the Seneca House Nursing Home after a long illness. He married Amanda Bailey on June 13th, 1933 and Amanda survives. As a young man Carl started his adult life, working for the WPA Building Levies for flood control during the depression and during World War II. In 1934 with a young family, he left Arkansas and went to Arizona and began working in Dairy’s, and a son was born. He returned to Arkansas and began work in a logging camp, he also built a house on Horn Lake where we ran a boat and fishing dock. At this time another son was born. Carl went back to working on Dairy’s and ran a dairy and milk route for several years, and a daughter was born. Several years later he moved his family to Arizona where they worked I agriculture for a year or so then moved back to Arkansas and worked at farming for a while but odds were against the farmers, so for a year or so, and he moved back to Arizona and worked as a Farm Mechanic for several years, later he and Amanda started a resale business at Apache Junction, Arizona. A few years later they moved to Missouri and started a resale business. Seven years later they moved back to Arizona and resumed their resale business. When illness struck him he moved to Schawlow Arizona and retired. Carl loved to hunt and fish; he taught all four of his sons to be mechanics and good ones. Carl was preceded in death by his father and mother and one sister and one brother. Survivors include his wife Amanda and his six children and spouses; JoAnn Pierson and husband Ben, Missouri, Kenneth Roberts and Wife Fay, Texas, Glen Roberts and wife Emily, Arizona, Martha Hunt and husband Walter, Oklahoma, Harry Roberts and wife Lorie, Missouri, Larry Roberts and wife Diane, Missouri; 21 Grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
