Barbara Fortner

Barbara R. “Eddings” Fortner, 73, Seneca, MO, passed into eternal rest June 9, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.   Barbara Ruth Eddings was born August 22, 1942 in Wyandotte, OK the daughter of William Chester and Freida Elizabeth “Kidwell” Eddings. Barbara formerly worked for the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, the Seneca House Nursing Home and she was a homemaker.  Barbara loved to fish and took great pride in catching big catfish.  She loved to visit and be with family and friends.   Barbara R. Eddings married Dallas Gene Fortner August 23, 1958 in Miami, OK and he survives.   Additional survivors include two sons, Randy Fortner and wife Darcy, Joplin, MO and Chris Fortner and wife Michele, Seneca; one daughter, Cindy Hansbrough, Seneca; 7 grandchildren, Nathan Fortner, Ethan Fortner, Callie Hillburn, Chanae Fortner, Ashely Thomas and Riley Fortner; 5 great-grandchildren, Madison Fortner, Mckaylee Knoblauch, Cameron Thomas, Brady Robinson, Jaydn Thomas and Ace Abell; one brother, Jo Eddings and wife Roxy, Platte County, MO; one sister, Ramona Forkner, Carterville.   Barbara was preceded in death by her father and mother; two brothers, Larry Eddings and Ronnie Eddings; two sisters, Velma Uptegraff and Bevelynn Surridge.   The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm, Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.   A celebration of life memorial graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM at the Seneca Cemetery.  The body has been taken for cremation under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO.
