Arlene Estes Bradshaw, 95, passed away on 11/6/2021, at her home in Seneca, Missouri.
Arlene was born in 1926 in Waynesburg, Kentucky to Walter and Dora Estes. She graduated from Niagara Falls (New York) High School and attended the University of Missouri. In 1946, she married Gordon Bradshaw. Arlene and Gordon lived in many states and communities during their marriage.
Arlene was an Educator, Substitute Teacher, Emergency Medical Technician, and a Middle School Secretary. Being an EMT in Colorado was a challenge she enjoyed immensely. She volunteered at the Saguache County Museum in Saguache, Colorado for many years and also with the Little Schoolhouse in Seneca, Missouri. She was an active member of the Seneca Study Club and enjoyed presenting her book reviews. Arlene was a member of the Baptist Church.
Arlene was an avid reader, completed crossword puzzles daily, was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed playing games with family and friends. Arlene took especially great pleasure in playing Scrabble with her friend, Frances.
Arlene is survived by one son, Glen Bradshaw (Teresa) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and two daughters, Gloria Steed and Susan Bradshaw, both of Seneca, three granddaughters: Audrey Nervig, Rachel Richards, and Caryn Bradshaw and a special niece, Debbie New-Lowry. Steve and Karen Crowley were her bonus children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mildred New and her brother Clemon Estes.
The body has been taken for cremation. Private services will be held at a later date at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery. The family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Newton County Ambulance District or the Seneca R-7 School District Foundation in care of the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home in Seneca.
