Amos Wolfinbarger

Amos  E. Wolfinbarger, 90, Nixa, Mo., formerly of Seneca, Mo. passed into eternal rest March 21, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo., after a long illness.    Amos Emery Wolfinbargerwas born Aug. 1, 1922, in Tiff City, Mo., the son of James E. and Esther Nannie (Mathia) Wolfinbarger. Amos E. Wofinbarger married Sarah Aug. 17, 1941, in Neosho, Mo., not long after their marriage Amos was drafted.    Private First Class Amos Wolfinbarger proudly served his country in England, France and Belgium in the Army of the United States during World War II. During the same time Amos was serving his country so were his brothers, Clifford Wolfinbarger, Lloyd Wolfinbarger, James R. Wolfinbarger and Frank O. Wolfinbarger. Following the war Amos and wife Sarah moved to Huston, Texas, where he worked for Brown and Roof, Inc. as a pipe fitter. In 1954, they moved back to Neosho, and Amos started working for the former B.F. Goodrich in Miami, Okla., retiring in 1985.    He loved to play golf and fish but his passion was to paint. Amos was a self taught artist and loved to paint oil paintings. He attended Calvary Bible Church, Nixa.   Survivors include one son, Jim Wolfinbarger, Tulsa, Okla.; one daughter, Sandra Chandler, Nixa; two brothers, Lloyd Wolfinbarger, Seneca and Frank Wolfinbarger, Neosho; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends. Amos was preceded in death by his wife, of 70 plus years, Sarah Wolfinbarger, July 22, 2012; his parents, James and Esther Wolfinbarger; two brothers, Clifford and James; and two sisters, Betty and Sylvia.    Funeral services under the personal direction of Camp-bell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, Mo., will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at the Campbell-Biddlecome Chapel with Lance Ogden officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Steve Edwards, Gary Wolfinbarger, Rob Rollins, Rob Wolfinbarger, Chuck Rollins and Scott Henry serving as pallbearers. Military rites will be held at the cemetery.
