Alva Heard

Alva W. Heard, 76, Seneca, MO, passed away, May 28, 2018 at the Landmark Hospital in Joplin after an illness.   Alva Winford Heard was born September 4, 1941 in Fairland, OK the son of Alva and Thelma Heard.  Al was a carpenter by trade. He worked in the State of California in Construction.  Alva married Joan Allen June 11, 1988 in Reno and she survives.   Additional survivors include one son, Ray Heard-Breshears; one daughter, Elizabeth Grace Heard; two step daughters, Denise Whitteaker and Karen Hagedorn; one brother Jim Heard; two sisters, Cuma Barnett and Janeth Steward, and a host of family and friends.   Alva was preceded in death by his mother and father and one brother William Heard.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, May 31, 2018 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca with Pastor Denny Sikes officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with John Whitteaker, Josh Duncan, Quinn Campbell, Cotton Eads, Jimmy Heard and Jim Heard serving as pallbearers.
